Greetings from the Amadeus Steen Foundation
The Steen roots in Winnipeg go back to the early 1980s when Thomas began playing for the Winnipeg Jets. Thomas and I came from Sweden to this beautiful city that we now fondly consider home. We raised our family here and have many wonderful memories. Those who are close to us know that we have three beautiful and healthy children, Alexander, Cassandra and Hamilton, and a fourth beautiful angel, Amadeus.
The opportunity to develop the Amadeus Steen Foundation has been a wonderful blessing. The Amadeus Steen Foundation is a non-profit organization which exists to enhance the lives of the community's children and youth through non-clinical initiatives that seek to restore hope. The Foundation strives to raise awareness around lesser known issues, make change through simple solutions with a big impact, and forge emotional connections with both children and their loved ones.
Monies raised from the second annual Canwest Steen Classic will go towards supporting one of the first initiatives of the Amadeus Steen Foundation - the designer makeover and development of themed hospital rooms in co-operation with the Children's Hospital Foundation. The desire to further build hope and peace through an environment of calming play and design of home-felt warmth within the confines of the Children's Hospital is a project that fits ideally within the objectives of the Amadeus Steen Foundation. It is the first project on a list of many that will benefit young people and their families.
On behalf of the Amadeus Steen Foundation, thank you for participating in the Canwest Steen Classic. May you have a wonderful day on the greens and may you take comfort in knowing how you have had a part in positively affecting a child's life.
