Greetings from David Asper

May, 2008

I am writing to invite you to spend a great day with some of the brightest stars from the world of hockey and entertainment and do something important for your community.

Canwest, National Post, and Global Ontario have partnered with the Steen family to launch a fundraising effort to help families in need. Thomas and Mona Steen, and their son Alexander, share with Canwest an important core value that those who can should give back to the communities in which they live.

Thomas Steen spent 15 years as the heart and soul of the Winnipeg Jets, a hockey player who was an outstanding leader on the ice but also represented his adopted city with a great deal of class and humility and who exemplified that core value of giving back to the community.

Thomas and Mona's son Alex, is now following the example of his parents as an up-and-coming star with the Toronto Maple Leafs. As part of his commitment to giving back to the community, Alex Steen and Canwest have teamed up in the Greater Toronto Area to host the Canwest Steen Classic.

The Canwest Steen Classic is a charity golf event now in its second year which will fast become the premier charity golf event in the region. On September 4, 2008, we will gather again at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville for the second annual event.

The Canwest Steen Classic is a fantastic day on the golf course, a chance to meet a whole lot of new friends, stars from the hockey and entertainment worlds, and raise some money to help kids-in-need.

Alex has chosen to work with the LAMP Community Health Centre in South Etobicoke, to work with high risk kids who are facing real-life crises. Alex wants to make sure they have the tools they need to reach their goals; a safe place to go, the right kind of mentors and the literacy skills necessary to help them prepare themselves for the working world. These kids are often facing the option of opting out of society and joining a world of gangs, violence and drugs. All the money raised at this event will go to fund specific programs at LAMP to help these young people make the right decisions.

I would like you to support this worthwhile effort by having a look at the enclosed sponsorship package and see where your company could contribute.

What will make this event truly special for you as a sponsor is the unique relationship between Canwest and the Steen family. Thomas and Alex will use their extensive connections within the hockey community to ensure that there is plenty of high wattage star power playing alongside our sponsors at this event. In addition, Canwest brings to the table a formidable promotional machine with our media properties in the GTA, to ensure your company gets the public recognition you deserve for participating.

Please take a look at the Sponsorship Information pages on this web site to see the levels of sponsorship that are available and we hope to see you at Glen Abbey on September 4th 2008.

Sincerely,
David Asper
