Canwest Steen Classic Golf Tournament The second annual Canwest Steen Classic Golf Tournament is being held on September 4th, 2008 at Glen Abbey. This year's benefit charity is once again LAMP Community Health Centre, in support of after-school programs for Torontonian youth at risk. Participants in the Canwest Steen Classic include current and former Toronto Maple Leafs, as well as numerous other celebrities, and athletes. The Steen Family Alex Steen first moved to Toronto to start his hockey career in 2005 Alex is married to Sofie, and has a one and a half year old son, Kingston. Career Highlights for Alexander Steen Forward for Toronto Maple Leafs Toronto's first-round pick (24th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft 122 NHL career points; 5th leading point getter for the Leafs in 2007/8 with 42 points (15 goals, 27 assists) LAMP Community Health Centre Located in South Etobicoke, the LAMP Community Health Centre, works with high-risk kids who are facing real-life crises. Their objectives are to make sure they have the tools they need to reach their goals; a safe place to go, the right kind of mentors and the literacy skills necessary to help them prepare themselves for the working world. These kids are often facing the option of opting out of society and joining a world of gangs, violence and drugs.
